Welcome to Black Bear Farm
Black Bear Farm is located in Jonesborough, Tennessee approximately 100 miles east of Knoxville. Established in 1985, the farm is privately owned by Cynthia Reynolds and Tom Raymond. It is named after Black Bear, a Morgan, the first horse Cynthia bought after finishing her medical training in 1974.
Cynthia has been breeding Trakehners since 1985 on a small scale while running her private medical practice in Johnson City, Tennessee. She has been riding since she was seven years old and has been training both her horses and herself in dressage since 1994. Her current mounts are Chief Speaker ("Newt"), a retired Grand Prix schoolmaster, and Südzauber ("ZZ"), a product of her breeding program and featured on this page. She competes regionally in USDF Region 3 and is currently working on earning her United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Bronze Medal.
Tom Raymond is a professional photographer and proprietor of Fresh Air Photographics in Johnson City, Tennessee. Tom's equine photography is featured on this Web site and may be found in print in the Feburary/March 2000 issue of The Equine Image.
