(Amadeus/Serenade VI/Elfenglanz)
The foundation broodmare of Black Bear Farm, Sensation, was bred by Gestüt Hörstein in Germany and imported into the United States by Wonderland Farms in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Her sire, the stallion Amadeus, was known for the wonderful broodmares he produced. She is out of Serenade VI, the German State's Premium and Elite mare who produced two stallions in Germany and was the DGL champion of all breeds in her year.
This mare line has been a very influential producing line at the Hörstein Stud and there are very few of these mares in the United States. This mare line includes the stallion Magnet, who is know for the beautifully moving horses he produces. Both Sensation and her dam, Serenade VI, have exceptional movement and produce this trait in their get.
Sensation has produced nine live foals and is now retired.
"Satsi" turned 30 in November 2010 and had a party to celebrate the occasion--with carrot cake, of course!
